It's a cute little store. I stop to get chicken and that's all I get. I haven't tried their sushi and I'm sure it's awesome. Run like a true mom and pop store it's easy to miss if you're speeding so slow down. It's a small store but over 100 years old and I'm sure providing the same awesome service. The chicken is tasty and I always enjoyed it. The people there are friendly and hard working. So if I'm ever passing Kualoa Ranch, this is a pit stop before the shrimp shacks!!

The chicken is superb! Moist and flavorful. Such a cool place. It's a must see!!! Friendly staff!

Fried chicken and sushi from here is amazing and one of the best in the island!!!!!! It's a small son and mom shop who are amazing people and very welcoming! The fried chicken is boneless (I know) but it's soooooooooo good and juicy!!! also the sushi which was my first time trying a tuna, egg, and carrot roll but so freakin delicious and wish I would have bought more! This is a hidden gem in Oahu and if you love fried chicken like me, it's a must visit!!!! Some of the best fried chicken I've had!!!!!!!!

Today I had a celebration of life @ Kualoa Ranch so I decided stop at Waikane Store . Many years ago I use to stopped by for their chicken and sushi. This small Ma and pop store is located right after crossing the Waikane bridge heading Northbound on Kam Hwy. it's a small store so it's easy to miss. Today i ordered their Maki sushi and their Portuguese Maki. It was very good and customer service is always pleasant. Support local

On our way to Koolau Beach Park, we stop by this spot. Based on the reviews on yelp this was a definite must stop to try. I waited in the car while hubby went in. I should've gone in too so that I can see what they had but since this area was his childhood hangout I trusted he would choose well. And he did! The smell coming from the store was a good sign cause it was making my tummy growl. He grabbed marinated grilled chicken and a roll of tuna maki. Sitting at the beach and enjoying the food was so nice. Good food, good company, and the weather was outstanding! Great day!

I love to support small businesses. This hole in the wall - mom and pop shop is just that! They carry other local businesses products as well. Of all the many times we've came here. We've always gotten the chicken fresh out the pan Kine. It was always hot and a little maki sushi always hit when u starving and trying to hold urself till u reach the shrimp trucks lol. The two at the shop is always friendly and welcoming. Always recognizes my family and always talk stories with us! Much aloha.

If you're in the area, you must stop at this hole in the wall mini mart for the chicken and maki sushi (about $16 for one each). We got the extra crispy and Portuguese sausage sushi. The rice is special flown from Japan and auntie puts a little hot mustard. I'm Japanese and Filipino so it tastes like home to me. So good! The owners are really nice. There's no place to eat so take it to the park by Mokoli'i (China Man's Hat) or a nearby park.

When we are on the Windward side, we love to stop at Waikato Store for two things: mochiko chicken and maki sushi rolls. The chicken is fried up as you order it, so this is not a fast food place. It comes out in those old-school paper boats wrapped in plastic wrap, and I swear it's so hot that I don't know how it doesn't melt the plastic. Maybe it does, because the hot juices tend to get all over the place, lol. Note to self: think ahead & bring some glass containers to keep it in!! The chicken isn't the typical heavily breaded mochiko style...I don't even know if it's officially called mochiko, come to think of it (there are no signs or menus up, so it's one of those ifykyk things), but it's very tasty, pan fried boneless chicken thighs that you just cannot stop eating. The old-school maki sushi rolls are also freshly rolled & rolled up in waxed paper. They're the perfect partner for the chicken. Just a note about the Waikane Store--it's delightfully old school, and there's a little bit of everything in there. It's a tiny little place on the side of the road, and if they didn't put up the inflated wavy-armed man thing, you might drive right by it. But it's just a great little mom & pop (actually son) place. Such nice folks and a fun tradition for us!

Located on the side of Kam Highway, look for the red pop-up banners or you'll miss it! It's a small parking lot area right up front, usually cars parking parallel to the storefront. When inside, it's a quaint shop, with snacks and drinks to choose from. Don't let the cashier area scare you (it's just years of memories floating around; you'll see what I mean when you get there). They take major credit cards, so that you don't have to worry about cash only options. The owners are very warm and welcoming, chatting and talking story while you're waiting for your items. The chicken is fresh, made-to-order, and the maki is hand-rolled daily. The flavors are comforting though my only wish is that the rice is not so wet in the maki. All in all, we need to keep places like this alive because there aren't many of them left!

Five stars! Highly recommended! The last time had the chicken and maki sushi was almost 20 years ago (since my work moved to town)! Was in the area and had to stop by to fulfill some nostalgic ono food cravings and boy, it did not disappoint! The maki sushi was super moist and delicious with the first bite. The flavor is perfect! Even in Japan or anywhere in Hawaii, no sushi can compare to here. It was like the scene in the movie Ratatouille, where the food critic took a bite and instantaneously took him back to the good ole days. I had the exact same experience! So delicious! The chicken was just as amazing and I had the exact the same experience as with the maki sushi, with my eyeballs rolling backward! So awesome! I will definitely stop by again (& again) to enjoy this wonderful experience! Highly recommend. A must have! Please keep up the great work! Waikane Store is a definite Hawai'i treasure!
